1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Sortr Music (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Sortr Music is a parental control application that allows parents to filter and approve music content for their children. The App integrates with third-party music streaming services (Spotify and Apple Music) and requires active subscriptions to those services.

3. User Accounts

Parent Accounts

• Must be 18 years or older to create an account
• Responsible for maintaining account security
• Responsible for all activities under your account
• Must provide accurate and complete information

Child Accounts

• Created and managed by parent accounts
• Subject to parental controls and monitoring
• Limited functionality based on parent settings

4. Subscription and Payment

• 1-month free trial available for new users
• Subscription fee of $7.99/month after trial period
• Subscription automatically renews unless cancelled
• Cancel anytime through your app store account
• No refunds for partial months

5. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party music streaming services. You acknowledge that:

• You must have active subscriptions to use these services
• We are not responsible for third-party service availability
• Third-party services have their own terms and conditions
• Music availability depends on your streaming service

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Circumvent or disable any security features
• Use the App for any illegal purposes
• Share account credentials with unauthorized users
• Attempt to access other users' accounts
• Reverse engineer or decompile the App

7. Content Filtering

While we strive to provide accurate content filtering:

• We cannot guarantee 100% accuracy in content classification
• Parents are ultimately responsible for content approval
• Filtering effectiveness depends on metadata accuracy
• We recommend regular review of approved content

8. Intellectual Property

All App content, features, and functionality are owned by Sortr, Inc. and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sortr Music shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the App.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sortr, Inc. from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these Terms. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your app store account.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes via email or in-app notification.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

14. SMS Messaging Program

By providing your mobile phone number to Sortr Music and opting in, you consent to receive SMS text messages from us. The SMS program details are below.

Description of Service

When you opt in, you may receive SMS messages from Sortr Music for the following purposes:

• Account verification and login codes
• Security and account alerts
• Family activity notifications (e.g., approval requests from a child account)
• Service notifications and important account updates
• Optional product updates and promotional offers (only if you separately opt in)

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your account activity. You may receive up to several messages per week.

Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply. Sortr does not charge a fee for SMS messages, but standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply based on your mobile plan.

Opt-In

To opt in to SMS messages from Sortr Music, reply START to any message from us, or grant SMS consent within the Sortr Music app during account setup or in your account settings.

Opt-Out

You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After replying STOP, you will receive a single confirmation message, and you will not receive any further SMS messages from Sortr Music. To resume messages, reply START.

For help, reply HELP to any message from Sortr Music, or contact our support team at support@sortr.com.

Carriers and Delivery

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Sortr's SMS service is supported on major U.S. wireless carriers, including T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, and others.

Eligibility

SMS messaging is currently available to U.S.-based users with U.S. mobile phone numbers. You must be 18 years or older to consent to receive SMS messages from Sortr Music.

Privacy

Phone numbers and SMS-related data are handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Sortr does not sell, rent, or share phone numbers with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.
